The Sarasota girls basketball cruised to a victory Wednesday night, beating Palmetto 52-24 in a district semifinal game in Sarasota.

"I was pretty pleased with the effort," Sarasota coach Robert Jutras said after the game. "I thought we played a full 32 minutes tonight. Seemed like we were plugged in right from the opening."

Zharia Grable and Camille Giardina combined for 29 of Sarasota's 52 points, with Giardina scoring 15 and Grable scoring 14.

Madison Pack and Cierra McKinnon each had five rebounds. Five players for Sarasota had four or more rebounds.

Sarasota will host a district final at home Friday, with the opponent to be determined.

"I think we're right where we need to be," Jutras said.
