Sarasota County has landed a big conference planned for 2014.
The Alliance for Innovation, a local government trade association, picked the county for the 2014 BIG Ideas Conference, according to an email from County Administrator Randall Reid to commissioners. The fall event taps progressive public, private and non-profit leaders to share new ideas for public policies.
The 2013 event will take place in Hollywood, Fla. in November.
