Sarasota County Commission continues Walmart talks

Sarasota County commissioners will consider comprehensive plan changes to allow a Walmart Neighborhood Market at the corner of Beneva Road and Bee Ridge Road during a hearing this afternoon.

Commissioners will listen to public comments regarding the proposal to replace River’s Edge Community Church with the forty-one thousand square foot store will be considered. The plan includes a drive-through pharmacy, nearly 150 parking spaces and additional lanes on adjacent streets.

The plan requires changes to the property’s current and future land-use designations.
