Sarasota County closes portion of Webber Street

An eight-inch water main broke this morning, forcing Sarasota County crews to stop traffic on Webber Street.

Sarasota County has stopped eastbound and westbound traffic on Webber Street between Avery Avenue and Savory Drive due to a water-main break, according to a news release.

The county has asked drivers to avoid the area, and stay tuned for updates on the break and whether a boil-water advisory will be issued.
