Drink This: Salida del Sol

Cool down the dog days of summer with this refreshing watermelon cocktail.

The dog days of summer are here. Chase away the heat with a refreshing cocktail reminiscent of a chilled watermelon salad.

Matthew Serrano, bar chef at The Table Creekside, shows you how to make your own version of the Salida del Sol.


2 oz. house-infused ginger rum

2 oz. fresh watermelon purée

4 lime wedges

12 organic mint leaves

¼ oz. simple syrup



Muddle lime wedges, mint leaves and simple syrup.

Add ginger rum and watermelon purée and shake in cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Strain into chilled martini glass and enjoy.
