Singing for the Seniors
Starts at 7 p.m. at Florida Studio Theatre, 1241 Palm Ave. Vintage Paws Sanctuary presents its first lip syncing competition. Solo acts and groups are welcome to compete for the trophy and cash prizes. Proceeds will help find homes for senior and terminally ill dogs. Registration and tickets are $35. Visit vintagepaws.org.

Festival of May Celebration
Runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Siesta Key Beach, 948 Beach Road. The Mangrove School of Sarasota invites the community to celebrate summer with a beach evening and dancing around the maypole at sunset. Free to participate. Visit the event’s Facebook page.

Tom Wallin Memorial Reef Benefit
Runs from noon to 8 p.m. at Walt’s Fish Market, 4144 S. Tamiami Trail. The benefit is held annually to keep Tom Wallin’s legacy alive and to raise money for the reef that bears his name in the Gulf of Mexico. Tripod Tuesdays
Runs from 9 to 10 a.m. at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 900 Palm Ave. Enjoy access to the Tropical Conservatory before garden hours on three Tuesdays this summer. Photographers who register in advance for this special opportunity will be allowed to use tripods to capture images of thousands of orchids. Registration is $15 for members; $20 for nonmembers. College Money Madness
Runs from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at Booker High School, 3201 Orange Ave. Local high school students and their parents are invited to receive assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at a free workshop. The event is a joint venture between the Sarasota County School District and the Talent4Tomorrow Partnership, a local education workforce initiative that offers college and career pathways. Sailors and Sandals
Runs from 7 to 11 p.m. at Sarasota Sailing Squadron, 1717 Ken Thompson Parkway. The event will benefit Take Stock in Children of Sarasota County, which helps low-income and at-risk students gain the help they need to achieve an education. Cost is $75. Call 266-6231.

Pool Moon Party
