Riverview High alum Richie James starred as an offensive weapon at Middle Tennessee State University.

Richie James

Redshirt freshman Richie James was named Middle Tennessee State’s offensive Warrior of the Week following the Blue Raiders’ week 2 game against No. 2 Alabama.

The Riverview High alumn led Middle Tennessee State in both receptions (10) and receiving yards (95) in just the second game of his career.

James’ 10 receptions are also a single-game team-best through the first two games of the season.

James, who was named Middle Tennessee State’s most improved receiver following spring drills, opened the season with six catches for 78 yards in the Blue Raiders’ 70-14 victory versus Jackson State. James and the Blue Raiders will return to action Sept. 19 versus Charlotte.
