It is not quite a city perched on a hill, but it definitely has a similar look and feel.

Motorists and pedestrians going past Nathan Benderson Park this past week may have noticed a standalone 20-by-32-foot enclosed tent — a private suite — on the western side of Nathan Benderson Park. The 2017 World Rowing Championships Host Committee has had the structure up and open for showings in hopes of selling rentals of suites for the September 2017 World Rowing Championships at the Park.

The air-conditioned suites can accommodate up to 40 guests at a time and feature balcony seating that overlooks the Nathan Benderson Park lake, the regatta finish line and the future finish tower. Prices range from $15,000 to $20,000 for suite rental.

Meredith Scerba, executive director of the 2017 World Rowing Championships, said she expects about 10 suites will be rented for the event.

Suites will be custom-built for customers, who receive 40 tickets per day to the World Rowing Championship.

“We are looking at this as a great corporate opportunity,” she said, noting businesses can wine and dine potential clients or their employees in the suites.
