Roundabout work closes Palm Avenue

To prepare for the roundabout that will be built at Palm Avenue and Ringling Boulevard, work crews closed South Palm Avenue to place conduit under the roadway.

A Verizon contractor closed the road Monday morning at Ringling Boulevard to complete the work.

The closure is expected to last until 7 p.m., but it’s possible an additional day will be necessary.

Later this week, one eastbound lane of Ringling Boulevard between Palm Avenue and Pineapple Avenue will shut down to allow the work to continue.

Construction on the roundabout is expected to begin within the next few months.
