Rotary rewards spokeswoman

Sarasota PD PIO Genieve Judge received a Pride of Workmanship Award by the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise.

Sarasota Police Department Public Information Officer Genevieve Judge specializes in providing information from the police department to the community. It's a busy job, and she was recently recognized for her work by the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise. 

The club awarded Judge with a Pride of Workmanship award at a ceremony at the Der Dutchman restaurant on Feb. 11. 

"She's 24/7 on calls,"  said club president Teresa Taft. "That morning that we gave her the award she was woken up at two o'clock in the morning with a road closure ... she had to get on Facebook  post to the community was happening."

Harry Sayer is the Black Tie Reporter for the Observer. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and previously worked the Black Tie beat for the Observer newspaper in Winter Park and Maitland. You can catch him at one of Sarasota's fundraisers and shindigs.
