Road construction for week of Feb. 19

Laurel Road
At I-75 Ramp
Construction. Project consists of installing mass arms and signals at the I-75 ramps on Laurel Road. Work should continue through February. Lane closures will be in effect when construction requires them. The contractor is Southwest Signals, Inc.

Sarasota County Advanced Traffic Management
Construction. Installation of new signal controller cabinets at 121 intersections throughout the county is completed. Workers will make adjustments to signals at intersection throughout the county. Delays will occur during installation. Improvements will not be in place until project is completed.

I-75
From north of North River Road to north of State Road 681
Construction. Widening I-75 inside of the median to six lanes from north of River Road to north of State Road 681. Expect nighttime lane closures through Saturday, Feb. 25, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. For additional information call Trudy Gerena, public information officer at (941) 584-6894 or (813) 299-3579

U.S. 41
From State Road 758 to Siesta Drive
Construction. Project will widen the roadway within the existing right-of-way, opening and brick accents, extend left-turn lanes, and modify the pedestrian crossing features and overhead signage. The outside southbound lane between Versailles Street and Bee Ridge Road will be closed through Wednesday, Feb. 22. The contractor is Cone & Graham, Inc. From 2nd Street to Colleton Drive
Maintenance. Intermittent northbound and southbound outside lane closures through Thursday, Feb. 23.

State Road 789
At the Ringling Bridge
Bridge maintenance. Crews will be performing maintenance on the bridge. Work will continue daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the end of March.

State Road 758
From U.S. 41 to Cattlemen Road
Maintenance. Lane closures eastbound between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. until Wednesday, Feb. 29. Crews will be repairing inlets and pipes.

From Cattlemen Road to Honore Avenue
Maintenance. Lane closures 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Crews will be replacing eight power poles.

State Road 681
Over U.S. 41
Bridge maintenance. Right lane to be closed on southbound U.S. 41. Contractor may close one southbound lane on State Road 681 over the next week. For more information contact public information officer Audre Clarke at (941) 730-1481

State Road 72
Replacement of the Bridge Over the Myakka River
Construction. Removal and replacement of the existing 57-year-old bridge over the Myakka River. Contractor is Kelly Brothers Construction, Inc.

From west of Proctor Road to Saddle Creek Trail
Construction. Project consists of removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway. Expect single lane closures 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Project to be completed this spring. The contractor is Ajax Paving Industries.

From west of Saddle Oak Trail to east of Myakka Valley Trail
Construction. Project consists of removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway. Expect single lane closures during daytime hours. Project to be completed late spring. The contractor is Superior Asphalt Inc.
