The Longboat Key Revitalization Task Force has declined an invitation to speak at the Longboat Key Town Commission’s 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 Colony Beach & Tennis Resort special workshop.

In an email to commissioners Tuesday, Task Force Vice President Tom Freiwald informed commissioners the task force would not be making a Colony presentation.

Instead, he resubmitted a Dec. 5, 2011 letter to commissioners that was sent to them almost two years ago.

The letter states: “The Revitalization Task Force feels that both sides of The Colony dispute need to get together and resolve their differences—and very soon. This isn’t just about them anymore, but about the entire community of Longboat Key, our future, our island. Please encourage, as best as you can, some forward movement toward a resolution of differences and a reopened and revitalized Colony.”
