USA Today named the Resort at Longboat Key Club as one of the 10 great places to play tennis.

The Tennis Gardens at Harbourside was the basis for the resort’s selection, which was released Thursday.

“Guests will feel as if they’ve hit the big time when they see this resort’s 500-seat tennis stadium, which hosts the Sarasota Open and can be expanded to seat 2,500 people,” the article states. “Other amenities include lighted courts for night play, along with private and semi-private lessons and daily clinics.”

Tennis Olympic medalist Bob Bryan called the resort’s tennis facilities “a very comfortable environment” and a “great place to improve your game."

Other great places to play that made the list included Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Ga.; The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa; La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif.; Wintergreen Resort in Nellysford, Va.; Rancho Valencia Resort in San Diego; Topnotch Resort & Spa in Stowe, Vt.; Wild Dunes in Isle of Palms, S.C.; and Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
