As cars drove by the Sailor Statue Wednesday, they gave a friendly honk. In his all-white sailor uniform, Ron Haddock stood with a group of petty officers as they held a special ceremony to mark Haddock’s re-enlistment of three years, which will put him at a total of 20 years with the organization.
Haddock joined the Navy in 1988, when he was 18 years old. His daughter, Nichole, will join the Air Force this September.
