A message was scribbled on the inside of the sailboat of a participant in the Labor Day Regatta.
Sometimes you need a little friendly reminder. The words pictured above were spotted scribbled on the inside of the Orange Blur at the Labor Day Regatta over the weekend. The boat with the sail No. 7940 belonged to participant Dorothy Mendelblatt, whose dad wrote her the message of encouragement.
The Real HousePets of Sarasota
Get the Pinot ready: The Humane Society of Sarasota County is calling on all pet owners for the fourth annual Real House Pets of Sarasota County photo contest and calendar. The contest is open to all pets of shapes and sizes. To enter the contest, participants must submit their favorite pet photo with a $10 donation to HSSC by going to hssc.org/pet-photo-contest. After you’ve submitted your photo, tell friends and family to vote for your HousePet on the website. Votes are $1 each and the number of votes will determine the winners. Proceeds from the contest and calendar sales will benefit pets at HSSC. The top 100 pets receiving the most votes will appear on the collage page of the calendar. The contest ends Oct. 10 and winners will be announced Oct. 13. Feel free to include a tagline. Here are our suggestions,"I may not be a housepet, but I am real," or "Life isn’t all diamonds and rosé, but it should be."
So do your part and send a snapshot of your pet. Holla!
