+ MSC Foundation awards $30,000 in grants
The charitable arm of Michael Saunders & Co., the MSC Foundation, awarded nearly $30,000 in charitable grants July 12, at its Sarasota headquarters, to 20 community organizations from Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties.

Recipients included Southeastern Guide Dogs, HOPE Family Services, FELT Inc. of Manatee, Women’s Resource Center of Manatee County, Manatee County Habitat for Humanity, Temple Emanu-El Preschool, Miracle League Manasota, Family Partnership Center, Salvation Army, the Children’s Healthy Pantry/Community Foundation of Sarasota, Joining Our Youth (JOY), Community Coalition on Homelessness, Laurel Civic Association, Community Youth Development, St. Vincent de Paul, Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota, Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Sarasota-Manatee, ITN Sarasota, Women’s Sertoma Club of Venice Inc. and The Venice Symphony.

Currently in its second year, the MSC Foundation has awarded more than $80,000 in grants to more than 35 nonprofit organizations in Southwest Florida.

Island Real Estate of Anna Maria announced its top agents for the month of June.
In the Holmes Beach office, Alan Galletto was the top listing agent and Kathleen White was the top sales agent. Gail Tutewiler was the top listing agent and Adele Holland was the top selling agent in the Anna Maria office.

+ SAR announces lowest inventory in a decade
The number of available homes in the Sarasota market dropped to 3,114 in June — the lowest level in more than a decade — according to a Sarasota Association of Realtors news release. The inventory represents an 18% year-to-date drop.

Members of the Sarasota Association of Realtors sold 883 properties in June, a drop from the May figure of 1,020, which represented an eight-year high, but up 2% over June of last year. The Sarasota real-estate market tallied 642 single-family homes and 241 condominiums in June, compared to June 2012 totals of 603 single-family homes and 261 condos sold.
