LAKEWOOD RANCH — The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch gave 26 charities the means to carry out their missions March 21, as the club doled out $110,000 in grants.

Proceeds from the club’s annual Suncoast Food & Wine Fest were distributed Thursday, March 21, during a special luncheon at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.

Grants ranged from $730 to $10,000. Benefiting charities this year included organizations such as All Faiths Food Bank, Manatee Children’s Services, Easter Seals and Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy, among others.

Nine members of the club’s Ways and Means Committee made the grant selections based on grant applications.

More than 130 volunteers, including 74 members of the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club, contributed thousands of hours at the Food & Wine Fest.

To date, the club has contributed $1,000,110 to support local and international charities through its grant process.
