Ranch construction on rebound

Lakewood Ranch officials say they are seeing a rebound in commercial construction, with more than $100 million in projects under way in the community.

“We are seeing a significant increase in commercial activity on the Ranch in response to the 18 month surge we have had in residential construction,” said Brian Kennelly, president of LWR Commercial Realty. “Traditionally commercial real estate lags behind a bit, and we are now entering that rebound stage.”

Current projects include The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Dental Medicine, the Lost Creek apartment complex and the renovation of a building for Faith Life Church, among others. More than 160 homes are under construction, as well.
