Rams volleyball holds off rival Sailors

The Riverview High volleyball team defended its court with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-18 victory versus rival Sarasota in its home opener Aug. 24. 

Margo Schnapf led the Rams with 12 kills and five digs. Alex Hilton added nine kills and two blocks. Abby Quigley contributed seven kills. Allie Allmer dished out 33 assists to go along with a pair of aces. 

With the win, Riverview improves to 2-0. The Rams will travel to Lakewood Ranch for a non-district battle among two of the areas top teams Aug. 25. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
