A three-day deluge has come to an end on Longboat Key. Between Monday and Wednesday, approximately 6.9 inches of rain poured down on the Key, causing flooding on many north-end side streets, particularly in Sleepy Lagoon and the Longbeach Village.

“Other than the usual flooding hot spots in Longbeach Village and in some spots along Gulf of Mexico Drive on the north end of the Key that staff monitored closely, we had no other issues. Signs were posted to warn about street flooding,” said Mark Richardson, Longboat Key facilities and recreation manager.

Flooding has subsided throughout the Key. Forecasts call for a 30% chance of rain today and a 10% chance of rain tomorrow.
