Dental hygienist Alyssa Handy of Children’s Dentistry of Manatee stopped by Feb. 7 to give a special presentation to children about their dental health.

Using games and activities, as well as her special frog puppet Chomp, Handy shared with children about proper tooth care, nutrition and other aspects of having healthy teeth.

Preschool co-owner Colleen Nicolini said the festivities were meant to celebration February as National Children’s Dental Health Month.

“We work hard here to promote good hygiene and dental hygiene, and we talk to (the children) about eating good food,” Nicolini said. “This just helps reinforce what we teach.”
