Marie Babayan (No. 1), Lauren Bock (No. 3), Aly Delrose (No. 4) and Karley Ward (No. 5) each captured singles victories for the Lady Pirates. The doubles matches were suspended due to a lack of light and the fact that they were not needed.

Wesley Kean earned the Thunder’s lone victory of the match at No. 4 singles.

GIRLS TENNIS

ODA 5, Cardinal Mooney 1

Caroline Dailey (No. 1), Michelle Ramos (No. 2), Cheyenne Kerekes (No. 3) and Savannah Sleight (No. 4) each earned singles victories for the Lady Thunder while Dailey and Ramos defeated Christine Warren and Aubree Callender in No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 doubles match as suspended due to a lack of light.

SOFTBALL

Braden River 9, Manatee 2

Freshman Courtney Mirabella pitched a complete game for the Lady Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out 11 and walking two.

Trisha Zuknick led the way for Braden River at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a homerun, an RBI, a walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Jess Cadorette went 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Mirabella went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Nicole Tira finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored; and Hannah Loyer went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Braden River 3, Riverview 1

Senior Trisha Zuknick pitched a complete game for the Lady Pirates, allowing one run on five hits while striking out eight and walking one. Zuknick also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Ashley Allard went 1-for-1 with two walks and a run scored and Brooke Ribarich went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and two runs scored to lead the way for Braden River. Tira went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

BOYS TENNIS

Bradenton Christian 4, ODA 3

Chay Eastan (No. 2) and Zach Balit (No. 5) both earned singles victories for the Thunder while Eastan and Kevin Frey maintained a 2-1 advantage in No. 2 doubles when play was suspended.

GIRLS TENNIS

ODA 7, Bradenton Christian 0

Michelle Ramos, Savannah Sleight, Michelle van Dalen, Morgan Woods and Mackenzie Johnson all earned singles victories for the Lady Thunder. Ramos and Alexis Lambardo and Amanda Arbeit and Liz McGayhey were both victorious in their doubles matches.

Trisha Zuknick went 2-for-2 with a walk. Nicole Tira went 2-for-3 with a run scored; and Ashley Allard went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI.

Lakewood Ranch 17, Dixie Hollins 0

Huntyre Elling, Sasha Wirth and Brittany Kilduff combined for the no-hitter.

Taylor Newton went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, 4 RBIs and three runs scored; Dana Hutchins went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored; and Jenn Trotter went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored to lead the way for the Lady Mustangs.

TRACK AND FIELD

Lakewood Ranch finished sixth at the 4th annual co-ed Bobcat Relays in North Port. Braden River and ODA tied with Cardinal Mooney for 16th place.
