Scooter Friss pitched a complete game for the Thunder, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out 12.

Sean Fleeman went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored. AJ Strong went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored; and Brody Wiseman went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored.

Ryan Fischer pitched a complete game for the Pirates, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out six.

Fischer and Dalton Busby both went 1-for-2 at the plate.

Caroline Dailey, Jinny Rostarchuk, Cheyenne Kerekes and Savannah Sleight all recorded singles victories for the Lady Thunder. Amanda Arbeit and Mackenzie Johnson were victorious in No. 2 doubles.

Trisha Zuknick and Hannah Loyer combined for the no-hitter, allowing three walks while striking out 12.

Courtney Mirabella went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored and Brianna Maxa went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored to lead the way for Braden River at the plate. Ashley Allard went 1-for-1 with a triple, an RBI two runs scored and three stolen bases. Trisha Zuknick went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, three RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases; and Lauren Powell went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Lakewood Ranch 16, Palmetto 0

Brittany Kilduff pitched a no-hitter to earn the win for the Lady Mustangs.

Corey Hanewich went 1-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, four RBIs and a pair of runs scored; and Becca Slowik went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored to lead the way for Lakewood at the plate.

Kayla Schappacher went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Rachel Slowik went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Dana Hutchins went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Taylor Newton went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Quillan Toler went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored; and Jenn Trotter and Stacie Nelson each scored a run.

Dan Pivonka, Michael vonWaldner, Wes Kean and Zach Balit each earned singles victories, propelling the Thunder to their first win of the season.

Cheyenne Kerekes, Savannah Sleight, Michelle van Dalen and Morgan Woods earned singles victories for ODA. Kerekes and Amanda Arbeit and Liz McGayhey and Alexis Lambardo were victorious at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively.

Marc Monroe and Austin Platt combined for the shutout, allowing two hits while striking out seven.

Dalton Busby went 3-for-4 with a homerun, four RBIs and two runs scored; and Monroe went 2-for-3 with a homerun, four RBIs and a pair of runs scored to lead the way for Braden River at the plate.

Braden River 10, St. Pete Lakewood 0

Courtney Mirabella pitched a complete game for the Lady Pirates, allowing three hits while striking out nine. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Hannah Loyer went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs and Lauren Powell, Trisha Zuknick and Kaycee Wells each added a double.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Lakewood Ranch High girls track team scored 90 points to win the Sarasota Ram Invitational. Braden River finished 10th with 18.50 points and The Out-of-Door Academy finished 13th with 7.50 points.

Leah Wierichs won the 100-meter-and 300-meter hurdles in 17.15 and 50.98, respectively. Kristin Zarella won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, setting a new school record in the two mile with a time of 11:49. The 3,200 relay of Zarella, Olivia Ortiz, Ashley Platt and Natalie Novak was also victorious, setting a new school record of 9:50.

Olivia Moore finished third in the high jump to lead the way for Braden River.

The Lakewood Ranch High boys team finished ninth with 29.50 points followed by ODA (10th) with 12 points and Braden River (13th) with three points. Top finishers for the boys include: Lakewood’s Damon Gilbert (first in the 100 in 11.58), Justin Gray (fourth in the high jump) and the 400 relay (fourth in 45.04)
