When police responded to a crime last week, they discovered an eight-week-old kitten in need of food and flea treatment.

Officer Mark Opitz wrapped the tiny feline in a blanket and brought him to The Cat Depot, where the kitten was immediately place under a vet tech’s care and observation. Named Boris by his rescuer, the kitten is available for adoption to a loving home.

“Officer Opitz is a hero to Cat Depot and humane animal-lovers everywhere,” said Shelley Thayer, Cat Depot executive director. “He is the epitome of how a single act of kindness can turn a potential tragedy into a life-saving act.”
