Police investigate Sarasota homicide

Based on injuries documented during an autopsy, the investigation of the death of Jolene Turner, a 41-year-old woman found dead in a field near 10th Street and Goodrich Avenue, is classified as a homicide investigation.

On Friday, March 22, at about 7 p.m., Sarasota Police responded to a report of a possible deceased person in the field.

Turner had been reported missing from her home March 15.

On Monday, March 25, police investigations classified the death as a homicide, according to a press release from the Sarasota Police Department. The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this death investigation is asked to contact Detective Jackson at 954-7096.
