A single-engine plane made an emergency landing four miles east of Lorraine Road Sept. 3.

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report states the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport’s tower called in reference to a plane that was experiencing engine problems.

The sheriff’s office was able to locate the plane, which made an emergency landing in an empty field, about four miles east of Lorraine Road on University Parkway.

The pilot and his passenger did not sustain injuries, and the plan sustained very little damage, the report states.

The plane has been removed from the field and transported back to the airport.
