Pineapple Square is set to announce the addition of a new store to its growing downtown complex.

Women’s fashion store Eileen Fisher has just signed a contract to occupy one of four new retail spaces at Main Street and Lemon Avenue.

John Simon, Pineapple Square developer, said the clothier fits the same quality and price point as Brooks Brothers and Hyde Park Steakhouse, two other Pineapple Square brands.

The new Eileen Fisher store is expected to begin moving into its new home in September and possibly open before tourist season begins.

The building at 1501 Main St. currently is being renovated to accommodate four retail stores — two with frontage on Main Street and two that will open up to Lemon Avenue.

Simon said he is discussing options with three other retailers to fill the remaining spaces but is not yet set to announce their names.

The entire Pineapple Square development includes more than 150 condos and 86,000 total square feet of retail space has been stalled because of the economy. The city has granted developers an extension until 2013 to begin construction.
