Party Updates

The Sarasota County School System was the featured topic Dec. 15, at the Longboat Key Democratic Club’s luncheon meeting held at The Chart House. Lori White, superintendent of Sarasota County Schools, and Shirley Brown, chairwoman of the Sarasota County School Board, were the speakers. Also speaking briefly was the Rev. James Golden, a Democratic candidate for the 13th Congressional District seat now held by Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key. Democratic Party of Sarasota County Chairwoman Rita Ferrandino presented an update on Sarasota County Democratic activities.
