Obituary: Morris Kaplan

Morris Kaplan, 86, of Longboat Key, died April 6, just one week shy of his 87th birthday.

Born in Detroit, Mr. Kaplan grew up to become a skilled carpenter.

A Longboat Harbour resident since 1991, he enjoyed dancing, fishing, trolling through the mangroves, playing pool, cooking and enjoying a good meal with family and friends.

Mr. Kaplan is survived by his wife, Marle Abramson; three children, two step-children, six grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
