Helen Linton Schweyer, 96, of Longboat Key, died April 26.

After an early career on Wall Street at the Bank of New York, Mrs. Schweyer became a stay-at-home mother, making her home a welcoming place for neighborhood children. She also served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts of Shoreham, N.Y.

Mrs. Schweyer moved in 1975 to Longboat Key, where she was the longtime head of recreation for Longboat Harbour. She loved passing afternoons at the bridge table and ending it with the perfect Manhattan – rocks on the side.

Mrs. Schweyer was preceded in death by her husband, George.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Dwyer; sons, Roy, Dale and Lloyd; daughter, Valerie; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was held April 29, at Longboat Island Chapel.
