OBITUARY: Harriet Shapiro

Harriet Shapiro, 93, of Longboat Key, died Oct. 23.

Born March 30, 1917, in Chicago, she and her husband, David, raised their family there. The couple moved to Longboat Key in 1985.

Mrs. Shapiro is remembered as a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Shapiro was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, David, and son, Jay. She is survived by her son, Fred Shapiro, of Telluride, Colo.; daughter, Bonnie Brodkin, of Longboat Key; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in Michigan City, Ind.
