Obituary: David Kovalsky

David Kovalsky, 64, of Sarasota, died May 31.

Born Sept. 14, 1948, in North Charleroi, Pa., he grew up in Mentor, Ohio, and graduated from Perry High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1975. He entered the real-estate industry in 1978 and became regional vice president of the northeast and central divisions for ERA Real Estate. Most recently, he served as sales manager of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty on Longboat Key.

Mr. Kovalsky enjoyed spending quality time with his wife of 40 years, Marian, and family, golf, sports, traveling, outdoor living and the Florida community. He is remembered for his approach to everything in life with energy, good humor and integrity.

Mr. Kovalsky was preceded in death by his father, John Kovalsky.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, of Sarasota; mother, Eleanore Kovalsky, of Ohio; daughters, Kristan Lewis, of Lakeville, Mass., Nicole Kovalsky, of New York City, and Courtney Kovalsky, of Quincy, Mass.; son Brent Kovalsky, of Columbus, Ohio; brothers Dale Kovalsky, of Ogden, Utah, and Dennis Kovalsky, of Powder Springs, Ga.; sisters Debra Frank, of Mentor, and Stacy Bielaska, of Brighton, Mich.; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests at 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, before an 11 a.m. memorial service at the National Cremation & Burial Society, 2990 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota. An additional memorial service will take place June 29, in Bourne, Mass.
