Obituary: Claire Louise Henkle

Claire Louise “Imee” Henkle, 86, of Longboat Key, died April 23.

Born April 20, 1923, in Baltimore, she worked a sales associate at Rhonda Dorf and Jones & Jones, both in Baltimore, before retirement.

Mrs. Henkle was a member of Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, The Newcomers Club of Sarasota, Meals on Wheels Soup Kitchen and the Encore Group.

Mrs. Henkle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; children, William, Maria and Claire; and one grandson. She is survived by daughters Claudia Parkhust, of Williston, Marian Thomas, of Bradenton, and
Maggie Overdorf, of Palm City; son, Dean, of Stuart; sister, Kathleen Jones, of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial celebration will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, 595 Bay Isles Road.
