New College of Florida has named Shannon Duvall as its new Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of the New College Foundation. Duvall will begin work at New College Monday, May 13.

She will be responsible for all aspects of the fundraising program, including major and planned giving, the annual fund and an ongoing capital campaign called the New College Promise.

In a press release Duvall said, “The opportunity to join such a strong leadership team headed by the visionary and charismatic President Donal O'Shea at one of the nation's leading public colleges for liberal arts and sciences was an opportunity I could not miss.”

Committee members chose Duvall for her impressive track record, professionalism, her knowledge of educational advancement and her personal warmth.

Previously, Duvall was associate vice president for development at Alboin College, an independent liberal arts college in south-central Michigan. Her responsibilities included major and planned giving, annual giving, building corporate and foundation relationships, prospect management and research and staff development and training.
