At 11:15 a.m. yesterday, Sarasota police responded to a 911 call about an incident at 6360 Gateway Ave. Neighbors James Nielsen, 61, and Michael Bell, 43, reportedly had gotten into a dispute that aggravated into violence.
Police arrived to find Bell suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Nielsen was arrested for attempted murder, and he is being held without bond.
