U.S. Census data released today shows that the median age of Longboat Key residents rose by two-and-one-half years in the past decade, from 67.9 in the 2000 to 70.4 in 2010.
Census numbers released in March reflected a 9.4% drop in population, with 6,888 residents in April 2010, compared to 7,615 residents in April 2000.
