If you love children and want to get more involved in the community, Manatee County may have a place for you to plug in.

The county has five openings for a citizens advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on children’s issues and advises the commission on priorities and expenses for Children’s Services funding. The 13 members of the CSAB serve on three-year terms.

The following positions are open:
• Representatives of the Florida Department of Children and Family Services (1)
• Representative of Manatee County United Way (1)
• Licensed mental health professional (1)
• Child advocates (2)

Applications are due Aug. 14 and can be found at the bottom of the page at www.mymanatee.org/advisory_boards.
