Manatee County still has shelter space; 3 p.m. curfew set

Evacuees still can find space as Hurricane Irma approaches.

Update: The Manatee County Sheriff's Office announced this morning a 24-hour curfew will be in effect beginning at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10.

 

Manatee County has released the following list of shelters, still with capacity, as Hurricane Irma hits the area. Lakewood Ranch High School was opened as an additional shelter at 9 a.m., Sunday.

Nolan (special needs)
Freedom Elementary
McNeal Elementary
Witt Elementary
Miller Elementary 
Williams Elementary
Seabreeze Elementary
Haile Middle

 

At 5 a.m. Sunday, the School District of Manatee County was hosting more than 21,000 evacuees.
