Manatee County proclaims Farm City Week

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed the week of November 14-22 as Farm City Week at its meeting today. 

Agriculture is one of Manatee County’s largest industries providing $500 million annually in economic impact. 

The proclamation says, “Farm City Week provides an unusual opportunity for those in agricultural enterprises and their city neighbors to become acquainted, and to work together for better understanding of our interdependence on each other.”

This year’s Farm City Week will celebrate 500 years of Florida agriculture and draw attention to the Viva Florida 500 campaign through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
