On Friday, we headed downtown to ask locals their thoughts on the first sign of fall in Sarasota.

Jessica Willett
“When the stores put up their fall harvest and pumpkins.”

Bob Howard
“When people stop wearing bright-colored shirts…? I actually didn’t know we had a fall…”

Jan Callaghan
“I think it’s a little bit of cooler weather that we’re all hoping for.”

Richele Ezzi
“I wouldn’t even know. There’s nothing that actually comes to mind. Maybe it’s the snowbirds coming back down and (Sarasota) getting a little busier.”

Jerry Filipowski
“I don’t care about fall. We live in the land of paradise. What do I need to worry about?”

Rita Moss
“I’m from Colorado … you don’t buy scarves here … what do you buy? I guess fall means end of the summer sales.”

Cindy Higham
“When I start to see car carriers, the mosquitoes disappear and I can sit outside on my porch.”
