Do you make New Year’s resolutions or have a tradition for New Year’s Eve?

For several years, whether we are in Boston or on Longboat, we always have an early dinner with about 10 friends. Then, we gather at one of our homes and watch the Times Square celebration on TV.

I make the same New Year’s resolution every year. I want to go to more places than I did in the past year. This year I was in the Czech Republic, Spain and Florida. (This year) I will start (the year off) by going to Amsterdam for New Year’s Eve, and later in the year I will go to Bulgaria, Spain again and, hopefully, Turkey.

I always make a resolution to eat better and stay healthy. So, I will try again this year. But, I am adding another this year. With two active teenagers I keep busy, but I am making a resolution to try to set aside a little bit of personal time for myself.

I am a Republican, and this year I am going to really spend more time and effort to help the party. Also I want to donate more of my time to help those in need.

I resolve to lose a few pounds. I hope (to do) more bike riding and exercise, plus watching what I eat will do it. It usually works, but then I end up gaining it all back again.

I do make resolutions from time to time. I want to continue to show my love for my son, daughter, grandchildren and my wife, Selma. I plan something special for her, and for a hint, check out my last name.
