MAN ON THE STREET: Daylight Saving Time

This weekend, East County residents will lose an hour an of sleep when their forced to spring forward for Daylight Saving Time March 14. We caught up with members and employees of the Lakewood Ranch YMCA and asked them to recall their experiences with Daylight Saving Time.

What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you because of Daylight Saving Time?

“I’m exhausted for weeks. I get up at 5:30 a.m. most days, so its takes a long time for me to get used to it.”

“I overslept and was late for an appointment. I have this one clock that’s up high that I never change, so half the time it’s an hour off.”

“I don’t even pay attention to it, so I don’t know that anything (bad) has every really happened.”

“I’m usually an early riser, so I guess it’s hard to wake up. I always make sure to set my alarm clock, so nothing bad has really happened to me.”
