A St. Petersburg man has been charged with possessing drugs and having intent to sell them.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office today charged 29-year-old Soutsaydone Suphanthamit of St. Petersburg with possession of five pounds of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A sheriff's office report states a deputy stopped Suphanthamit for having a tag light out on his silver 2002 Honda S2000 convertible. TWhile speaking to the driver, the deputy noticed the smell of unburnt marijuana.
When asked by the deputy where the marijuana was located, Suphanthamit removed a joint from his right front pocket. A search of the vehicle uncovered 5 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. Each pound was individually packaged.
Suphanthamit had $869 in cash on him, the report states.
