Man arrested for murder

Roy Couran, 33, was arrested by the Sarasota Police Department on Feb. 7 for homicide, attempted robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The arrest occurred after the lead detective obtained warrants for Couran’s arrest.

The charges are based on an attempted robbery that occurred on Jan. 25 that led to the shooting and death of Jeffrey Hill. Hill’s death was the first murder of 2012 in the City of Sarasota.
