Seven weeks after construction first began, streetscape improvement efforts are progressing to various degrees along Main Street.

From Palm Avenue to Mira Mar Court, brick pavers have been installed along the sidewalk and construction crews will be working on the instillation of pavers in the parking area. Parking from Palm to Mira Mar could be reopened as early as next week, according to the project update issued by the city.

Just east, from Mira Mar to Five Points, demolition of the sidewalk and removal of streetlights is just under way. Demolition will continue through next week, when the instillation of Silva Cells for tree growth could begin.

From Gulfstream Avenue to Palm, where construction first started, storm structures are continuing to be installed after crews began that work last week.

Construction is also ongoing at the south side of Pine Place, where demolition is taking place for the instillation of storm structures.

More information about the Main Street streetscape improvement project can be found on the city’s website.
