+ Lost and found: a toy story
In December 2013, the Fagerberg family traveled from Sweden to Sarasota for vacation. While in town, they visited The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota to see its gingerbread house display. During the visit, Michael misplaced his stuffed Mickey Mouse toy.

For a year, Michael has been asking his mother, Lisa Faberberg, about his lost toy, only to be reminded that it was last seen at the hotel in Sarasota.

“It just broke my heart to hear my son cry over this Mickey and say he wanted Santa to bring him a new one,” Lisa Fagerberg said.

Before deciding to purchase a new identical toy, Lisa Fagerberg called the hotel one last time. And, sure enough, when the Ritz staff members were unpacking the holiday decorations this season they had found the Mickey Mouse toy.

In December, when the family arrived at The Ritz-Carlton to retrieve the toy, they learned how busy Mickey had been that year. General Manager Damien O’Riordan even went as far as to award Mickey with a one-year service pin. The family received a special book with photos of Mickey spending time with the hotel staff, including sitting in on meetings, helping guests check in and enjoying the spa. The Fagerberg family has returned home to Sweden, and Lisa Fagerberg is happy to report that Mickey is snuggly asleep with Michael.
