Oct. 13

DRIVING IN THE DARK

10:40 p.m., 6040 Gulf of Mexico Drive

Public service: A driver flagged down a police officer in the parking lot of Cannons Marina. The officer approached the driver, an 89-year-old woman, who said she was lost and low on gas. He then escorted the driver safely to her home on L'Ambiance Drive.

Oct. 14

TURN IT DOWN

11:30 p.m., 490 N Shore Road

Disturbance: An officer responded to noise complaint coming from a group of boats under the Longboat Pass Bridge. The officer walked to the boats near the end of Greer Island and found they were playing music. The boaters agreed to turn the music down. 

Oct. 15

FIX THE LEAK

9:36 a.m., 6537 Gulf of Mexico Drive

Public service: Police responded to a a water leak at the water meter at the home at this address. After further inspection, an officer determined the leak was past the water meter and coming from the home's back flow valve. The tenant was informed that the leak repair belongs to the homeowner, since it is after the water meter in the line. The tenant indicated he has already told the home owner about the leak and they will work to get it repaired.

Oct. 16

UNDER PRESSURE

10:53 p.m., 571 Wedge Lane

Disturbance: An officer arrived on scene to check out a noise disturbance. There he found the owner of the home pressure washing his pool deck. The officer explained the town's noise ordinance and the homeowner agreed to not make any further noise.
