Local VFW post to sell poppies

In honor of Veterans Day, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12055 will be selling Buddy Poppies in front of three East County Publix stores tomorrow.

Participating Publix locations are: Twelve Oaks Plaza, 7290 55th Ave. E.; Lakewood Walk, 11205 S.R. 70 E.; and Lakewood Ranch Gateway, 1755 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

The poppies are free, but donations are accepted.

The post has collected more than $10,000 since it began giving out poppies in 2007. and 100% of money raised benefits veterans and their families.
