Florida Trend magazine’s Golden Spoon awards are given annually to the best restaurants around the state.

Established 40 years ago, approximately 100 restaurants receive the award. This year, six are in Sarasota, and three are on Longboat Key.

Darwin’s on 4th, Indigenous, Libby’s Café + Bar, Mozaic and Selva Grill in Sarasota all received the Golden Spoon award, and Michael’s on East received the Hall of Fame award, which recognizes restaurants that have earned repeated Golden Spoons.

On Longboat Key, Maison Blanche and Pattigeorge’s received the Golden Spoon award, and Euphemia Haye earned the Hall of Fame award.

The top criteria for the award are both excellent food and service. The award is usually given to restaurants that have proved longevity and have been in business for more than three years.

A full list of the awards is in the magazine’s December issue, which is on newsstands now.
