Local Elks receive Veterans Service Awards

Three members of Lakewood Ranch Elks Lodge 2855 received Governor's Veterans Service Awards earlier this month from Gov. Rick Scott in a ceremony at the C.W. Young Armed Forces Reserve Center at Pinellas Park.

Jack Ogren, Steven Carruthers and Charles Stolteben received medals and posed with the governor for photos.

All three support Lakewood Ranch Lodge 2855 programs that support veterans, such as the luncheons honoring veterans at the lodge, traveling to Veterans Health Administration hospitals on visits or shipping items overseas to veterans who are currently deployed.
